Barrett-Jackson Adds Elite 2004 Porsche Carrera GT Supercar to 2022 Scottsdale Auction, Will Cross the Block with No Reserve
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. ‒ January 14, 2022 – Barrett-Jackson, the World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions, just announced that a highly desirable 2004 Porsche Carrera GT (Lot #1398) was consigned and will cross the block with No Reserve during the auction company’s 50th anniversary celebration at WestWorld of Scottsdale, January 22-30. The Porsche Carrera GT is chassis number 0123 of 1,270 total vehicles built worldwide, has 1,547 actual miles and only one previous owner. “The 2004 Porsche Carrera GT is an elite supercar that traces its heritage directly back to a Le Mans development prototype that didn’t end up being produced,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “The concept version debuted in 2000 and was truly years ahead of its time in terms of performance and design. Two decades later, it remains an elite supercar. Rarely do these legendary collectible Porsches change hands, but one lucky bidder will take this vehicle home when it crosses our Scottsdale auction block at No Reserve.”
The 2004 Porsche Carrera GT (Lot #1398) is powered by a liquid-cooled mid-mounted 5.7-liter quad-cam V10 engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential. This impressive engine produces 605hp and 435 ft/lbs of torque. The carbon-fiber body panels are finished in GT Silver Metallic with matching removable roof panels and the interior is trimmed in Dark Gray leather and features racing-style seats with carbon fiber and Kevlar shells. Additional features include staggered diameter forged magnesium wheels, ceramic composite clutch and brake rotors, as well as an electronically actuated rear spoiler. This exclusive and sought-after Porsche includes a factory seven-piece luggage set, original service books, factory car cover, complete tools and service records.
“The Porsche Carrera set new standards for supercars,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “It can go from zero to 60 miles per hour in about 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of around 208 miles per hour. Porsche used lavish amounts of carbon fiber to keep the weight to a minimum while its V10 engine pumps out an incredible 605 horsepower. The power-to-weight ratio was 425 horsepower per ton, which is still astonishing for a street legal road car.”
