SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. ‒ October 3, 2023 – Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions, let the good times roll during the inaugural New Orleans Auction, delivering the ultimate automotive lifestyle experience at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, September 28-30, 2023. In total, 356 vehicles were sold at auction, all with No Reserve, for $21.6 million. Additionally, Barrett-Jackson sold 274 pieces of authentic automobilia for more than $960,000, bringing total auction sales to $22.5 million with a 100-percent sell-through rate and over 30 world auction records. Highlighting the event was a Resto-Mod 1958 Chevrolet Corvette custom convertible that led top auction sales at $660,000, as well as the “Honolulu Lulu” custom 1932 Chevrolet Woody Wagon donated by Megan and George Shinn that was auctioned for charity, raising $375,000 for Samaritan’s Purse and their relief efforts in Maui following the August wildfires.

Raising a total of $375,000, Barrett-Jackson sold a 1932 Chevrolet Woody Custom Wagon nicknamed “Honolulu Lulu” and donated by renowned philanthropists Megan and George Shinn to benefit Samaritan’s Purse and their relief efforts in Maui following the devastating August wildfires. The custom hot rod originally hammered for $100,000 and was immediately donated back by longtime member of the Barrett-Jackson family Michelle Mauzy to sell again. After hammering a second time for $75,000 with the winning bid from Ted McIntyre, additional donations were added, including $100,000 from Mike and Tracy Patterson as well as $50,000 donations from the Shinns and Hendrick Motorsports owner Rick Hendrick.

Throughout the three-day event we continued to meet the demand for all segments of the hobby, and I can’t wait for what’s on the horizon in 2024 as we now turn our sights to Scottsdale.”

Barrett-Jackson’s inaugural event in the Crescent City also sold 274 pieces of authentic automobilia at the auction with No Reserve for more than $960,000. The top three automobilia pieces that sold during the New Orleans Auction include:

During the three-day event, Barrett-Jackson also hosted several notable celebrities, including the New Orleans Saints all-time sack leader and eight-time Pro Bowler Cam Jordan, as well as “The First Lady of Motorsports” Linda Vaughn.

Additionally, Barrett-Jackson’s year-long Fantasy Bid presented by Dodge competition culminated on Saturday with Keith R. from Ohio taking the crown and winning the grand prize – a 2023 Dodge Charger.

Barrett-Jackson is now accepting consignments for the 53rd Annual Scottsdale Auction, January 20-28, 2024, at WestWorld of Scottsdale.
