SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., March 29, 2021 – Two of this year’s most coveted VIN 001 vehicles, the first 2021 Ford Bronco 2-door First Edition (Lot #3008) and 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 (Lot #3005), galloped over the Barrett-Jackson Auction block in Scottsdale and raised $1,575,000 for charity on March 26 and 27.
One-hundred percent of the $1,075,000 hammer price from the Ford Bronco two-door First Edition benefits National Forest Foundation and Outward Bound, which are part of Ford’s Bronco Wild Fund mission to connect people to the outdoors. The sale price of $500,000 for the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 benefits JDRF’s efforts against type 1 diabetes.
“Two of Ford’s most iconic vehicles, the Ford Bronco and the Mustang Mach 1, were reborn for 2021 in response to great public demand,” said Dave Pericak, Director Enterprise Product Line Management – Ford Icons. “To celebrate their return, we donated the coveted VIN 001 of each to raise money for key non-profit organizations. Bidding was fierce for these vehicles because it was a rare opportunity for public to own a very special Ford and help charities that have a lasting impact on society. We are very pleased that Ford Motor Company helped raise $1,575,000 for these worthy causes.”
To date, the long-standing relationship between Ford and Barrett-Jackson has raised more than $13,458,000 over 15 years for charities.
